Knowledge management and company performance

My doctoral work examined the effect of knowledge management capabilities on new product development and company performance, using structural equation modelling. The framework I use today in advisory and training work rests on that research.

Peer-reviewed article
Impact of Knowledge Management Capabilities on New Product Development and Company Performance
Yıldırmaz, H., Öner, M. A., & Herrmann, N. (2018). International Journal of Innovation and Technology Management, 15(4), 1–34. World Scientific Publishing.

An empirical study that tests and extends a framework linking knowledge management enablers to the knowledge creation process. Business strategies and market dynamics are added to the model, and new product development is treated as a mediating variable. The result is a structural equation model available for academic use and a tool to help managers develop strategy.

Doctoral thesis
The Impact of Knowledge Management Capabilities on New Product Development and Company Performance (An Application of Structural Equation Modeling — SEM)
Yıldırmaz, H. (2008). Thesis No. 239068 [Doctoral thesis]. Yeditepe University, Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Business Administration, Management and Organization. Council of Higher Education (YÖK) National Thesis Center.

A theoretical model setting out the relationships between knowledge management enablers, the knowledge creation process, new product development capability and perceived company performance was built and analysed through structural equation modelling. An existing model from the literature was extended by adding business strategies and market dynamics. The research was carried out through a survey of information technology companies in Turkey, with 294 respondents from 93 firms. Data were analysed with SPSS and AMOS. Given that companies have limited resources, the resulting model helps managers decide which enablers and which knowledge creation processes to focus on.

Hayatın Hakkını Ver
Senin Yolun, Senin Hikayen

Sooner or later everyone meets the same question: who am I, and what kind of life do I want to build? This book was not written to hand you ready answers, but to help you find your own compass. Making the most of your life is not a matter of waiting for the right conditions; it is knowing yourself, asking the right questions and taking courageous steps.

Sometimes it is our means that are limited, sometimes our courage. What carries us forward is always the same: the small but determined steps we take. These pages hold a frank account of mistakes, fresh starts, self-confidence and change.

If you want to chart your own path and turn your potential into something real, you are in the right place. What defines you is the road you choose to walk. The book is published in Turkish.

Shall we think through a question together?

What I write mostly comes out of questions I encounter in advisory and training work. If your organization is facing a similar question, write to me; in a first conversation we can clarify together what you want to make work better.
